Jimmy D Nicely isn't asking for money or sympathy — he's asking the world to hear his song while he still can
Fort Collins, Colorado Sep 29, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Jimmy D Nicely has spent years writing songs about faith, family, and the road. Now, living with end-stage COPD, the country and gospel singer-songwriter has one wish left on his list: to see his song "There Lies a Good Man" reach one million streams.
He's not asking for donations. He's not asking for pity. He's asking for something free -- press play.
Jimmy has been saying goodbye the only way he knows how: through his music. In recent weeks he released "My Last I Love You," writing, "After dealing with endstage COPD for many years, I didn't want to wait until it was too late to say I love you one last time. I love you all, but God loves you most." He followed it with "Remember Me Sometime": "I would like to be remembered for my love of music and the love I had for family and friends." And for his daughter Savannah, he wrote "My Savannah" -- "I will always be with you, even after I have passed."
"There Lies a Good Man" is the song he wants the world to carry forward. One million streams. That's the number. Every play is a prayer answered, every share a hand reaching back.
"Jimmy's spent his whole life giving people songs," said Will Stenner, owner of Discover YOU RADIO LLC. "Now he's asking for one thing in return, and it doesn't cost anybody a dime. Press play. Share it. Help a good man hear his song echo while he's still here to hear it."

"There Lies a Good Man" is also streaming on iHeartRadio, Anghami, and all major streaming platforms.
