Academically, Michael earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, his Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of South Florida, and his Doctor of Public Administration from West Chester University in Pennsylvania, with a dissertation on landlords in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.
With a rich professional history, Michael has navigated roles within the real estate industry's public, private, and nonprofit sectors. In 2012, he founded the 501 (c) nonprofit organization, Corporation to Develop Communities of America, Inc., focusing on real estate development and neighborhood revitalization in low-and-moderate-income (LMI) communities.
