“A few years ago, two critical incidents at the same weekend happened. First, I crashed in the mountains alone and couldn't reach my smartphone to call for help. Also, my daughter was harassed by some guys on the way from a disco to her car. In such a situation it could have been dangerous for her to take the smartphone out of her handbag. Fortunately, nothing happened,” says founder Reinhard Mairhofer on the inspiration behind he project. “After this, with two friends I created pe-SOS, a simple to handle and efficient outdoor alarm button for smartphones.”

When the user activates the button, my private SOS sends out 3 alarm emails, 2 alarm SMS messages and 2 automatic alarm phone calls to the individual’s selected emergency contacts. The messages display the current GPS location while the phone call lets the listener know the current geo coordinates. The my Private SOS can be worn as necklace on a lanyard, with a carabiner hook, a running armband, backpacks, hip bags and more. It is the perfect companion device for use at work, sports, travel, hiking plus health and every day security reasons.
