HowToLose-10Pounds.com Releases New Consumer Report On The Best Ways To Stay Healthy. New Study Finds Diet And Exercise Together Have No Additional Benefit.
Chicago, United States - September 16, 2016 /MarketersMedia/ —
HowToLose-10Pounds.com publishes a new consumer report on the best ways to stay healthy. The detailed report covers topics ranging from nutritional information, to workout routines, and what types of foods should be avoided to help teach people how to lose 10 pounds. Overall, the report contains helpful information on what consumers can do to help promote healthy weight loss and improve overall health. The commencement of the consumer report happens as a new study finds no added benefit when combining diet and exercise to achieve healthy weight loss.
This is especially true for individuals that are considered overweight or obese by medical professionals. Losing weight through a combination of diet and exercise is not necessarily the best way to promote healthy weight loss. According to one study conducted by researchers at Saint Louis University, it doesn't matter exactly how one decides to lose weight (diet or exercise), both forms by themselves individuals lose weight and protect themselves from attaining cardiovascular disease. People who have excess body weight tend to find that weight loss of a modest amount, whether achieved through exercise, or through moderate calorie restriction will help to protect their heart. These findings were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The researchers took 52 overweight, middle-aged people (both men and women) and divided them into three different groups. One group dieted, one group got regular exercise, and one group did both.
The groups were each tasked with attempting to lose 7 percent of their body weight over a period of 12-14 weeks. Those who dieted were asked to cut their food intake by 20 percent. Those who exercised were asked to increase their activity levels by 20 percent. The group that did both were asked to move 10 percent more and cut their food intake by 10 percent. The study looked at a number of indicators of heart health including blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol levels. The results of the study found that while diet and exercise together did not seem to offer any additional benefit or specific improvement over just diet, or just exercise, it was a good combination because it meant that the participants were not forced to cut calories excessively or exercise as intensely.
