Amber Cox departs Indiana Fever as team prepares search for new GM
Cox’s exit takes effect immediately and follows Kelly Krauskopf’s decision to step down as team president.

Amber Cox’s tenure as the Indiana Fever’s chief operating officer and general manager has ended, the franchise said in an October 23, 2026, announcement. Her exit took immediate effect, and Indiana said a national search would begin for its next general manager.
The announcement came soon after team president Kelly Krauskopf stepped down, marking another leadership change for the franchise.
Indiana credited Cox with contributing to two consecutive playoff appearances. During that stretch, the Fever reached Game 5 in the 2025 WNBA semifinals, won the 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup and recorded a franchise-best 28 wins in 2026.
PS&E president and CEO Mel Raines said Cox had helped the organization handle growth in both the franchise and the WNBA during her two seasons with Indiana, and thanked her for her work.
NBC Sports reported that Cox assumed both jobs in 2024, replacing Lin Dunn, who continued with Indiana as an adviser. Cox previously held COO positions with the Dallas Wings and Phoenix Mercury and served as vice president of sports for the Connecticut Sun.
