Robert Kraft and Doug Williams are among five candidates moving forward in the Contributor category for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2027 class, the Hall announced. Ralph Hay, Virginia McCaskey and John Wooten also remain in contention.

The category’s subcommittee will review the five candidates and send one name to the full selection committee. That committee will vote on the nominee before the Super Bowl.

Kraft, the Patriots owner, reached the full committee’s ballot last year but did not receive enough support for election. Hay also reached this stage in the previous selection cycle. He owned the Canton Bulldogs and participated in the NFL’s founding.

McCaskey’s ownership of the Bears began in 1983 and lasted until her death in 2025. Williams was a Super Bowl-winning quarterback for Washington and later held a front-office role with the team. Wooten’s career included NFL playing and scouting roles; he became Fritz Pollard Alliance chair in 2003.
