Evans and Bosa among six 49ers players ruled out against Falcons
Christian Kirk is questionable because of a calf injury, but Shanahan says San Francisco plans to activate the receiver for the matchup.

Receiver Mike Evans and defensive lineman Nick Bosa will be unavailable against the Falcons, with San Francisco ruling out six players. Evans has an Achilles injury, while Bosa is dealing with injuries to his knee and calf.
Evans has recorded 420 receiving yards in 2026, more than any other 49ers player. His 27 receptions put him second on the team in catches.
Hamstring injuries will also keep receiver Deebo Samuel and linebacker Garret Wallow out of the matchup. San Francisco's other ruled-out players are linebacker Luke Gifford because of a groin injury and safety Marques Sigle because of an ankle injury.
Shanahan told reporters that Bosa was probably overly optimistic about the comeback he had targeted a couple of weeks earlier. The team's Week 8 bye gives him further time to recover.
Despite Christian Kirk's questionable status with a calf injury, Shanahan said San Francisco intends to activate the receiver against Atlanta. Two defensive players also remain questionable: Upton Stout, a defensive back with a shoulder injury, and Siran Neal, a safety with a knee injury.
