Buccaneers linebacker Alex Anzalone has received his first NFC defensive player of the week award after recording two interceptions in a 16-0 victory over the Falcons.

Anzalone intercepted both passes during the opening quarter. The league said only one other linebacker had recorded two first-quarter interceptions in a game since 2000: Lofa Tatupu, who did so in 2007.

His performance also included six tackles, with one stopping a play for a loss. Tampa Bay held Atlanta scoreless and won despite failing to complete a pass.

The Buccaneers’ next matchup is a road game against the Bears.
