The Milwaukee Brewers became World Series champions for the first time on October 28, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5. The title-deciding game took place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Milwaukee’s 4-1 victory ended the series after five games, with the Brewers recording four wins and Tampa Bay taking one. The Rays remain without a championship despite having reached the World Series four times.

The Brewers’ previous World Series appearance came in 1982. They lost that matchup to the St. Louis Cardinals, leaving them without a title until this victory over Tampa Bay.

Milwaukee reached the championship series by sweeping the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Tampa Bay secured the American League pennant by beating the Cleveland Guardians in six games.
