Cardinals stick with Jacoby Brissett after loss to Broncos
Coach Mike LaFleur said Arizona’s offensive problems require a team-wide response, pointing to missed opportunities near the goal line.

Arizona Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur confirmed that Jacoby Brissett will remain the starting quarterback after a 30-16 home defeat against the Denver Broncos. LaFleur said responsibility for the offense’s difficulties extends beyond the veteran passer.
Speaking at his Monday news conference, LaFleur said Arizona had reached inside the opponent’s 10-yard line 10 times across its past two games but needed to turn those opportunities into results. He said he must provide clearer direction and put players in better positions, while players must execute when given that clarity.
Brissett leads the league in passing attempts with 282. Through seven games, he has completed 65 percent of his throws, producing 1,600 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Rookie quarterback Carson Beck also has a back injury and missed two practices the previous week. LaFleur described the problem as a back spasm that had flared up.
The Broncos defeat prolonged Arizona’s home losing streak. The Cardinals next visit the Cowboys for Week 8, with their bye scheduled for Week 14.
