Spire Motorsports has suspended Carson Hocevar from the Nov. 8 finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway following an incident involving Austin Cindric at Martinsville Speedway. Justin Haley will take over his No. 77 Chevrolet for the race.

Hocevar appeared to brake-check Cindric repeatedly at Martinsville, with the resulting damage eventually ending Cindric’s race. Afterward, Hocevar characterized the incident as typical racing at the track.

Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson said the team chose to act rather than leave discipline to NASCAR. He said Hocevar’s conduct fell short of the organization’s expectations for its drivers and employees, while emphasizing that the team continued to support him. Dickerson described the decision as a matter of respect and integrity rather than money or points.

Hocevar earned his first career victory at Talladega on April 26. He is 12th in the standings ahead of Homestead but could finish as low as 16th, depending on the race’s outcome.
