Thunder agree to US$139 million extension for Cason Wallace
The five-year contract starts in 2027-28, while Wallace is set to take on a full-time starting role following Lu Dort’s departure.

Cason Wallace has signed an extension with Oklahoma City worth US$139 million over five years, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The report cited the guard’s agents at Excel Sports Management: Jeff Schwartz, Max Lipsett and Marcus Monk.
The new terms begin in 2027-28, taking restricted free agency off the table for Wallace next offseason. With Lu Dort leaving the Thunder, Wallace is set to start full time as he begins the last season of his four-year rookie deal.
Wallace, 22, recorded 58 starts in 2025-26, a career high. He was primarily replacing All-Star Jalen Williams, who faced injuries throughout that season. In 77 games, Wallace averaged 8.6 points alongside 3.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
His season total of 150 steals topped the NBA. He also earned All-Defensive second-team honors and drew votes for Defensive Player of the Year.
