Colorado beats Kansas State in overtime to end five-game skid
The 27-24 victory gave coach Deion Sanders his first Big 12 win of the season, leaving both teams at 1-4 in conference play.

Deion Sanders’ Colorado team ended a five-game losing streak with a 27-24 overtime victory over Kansas State, securing its first conference victory of the season after surrendering a late lead.
Kansas State opened overtime with a field goal, but Colorado answered by scoring the winning touchdown. The result left the teams sharing last place in the Big 12, each with a 1-4 conference record.
Colorado had been ahead for much of the contest and held possession with a 21-14 advantage late in the fourth quarter. Unable to get a first down that would have sealed the result, Colorado punted. Kansas State then drove for a touchdown with two seconds left in regulation.
Trailing 21-20, Kansas State first prepared for a two-point attempt to win, then chose an extra-point kick to send the game into overtime. Afterward, Sanders said his players had maintained their belief and expressed pride in the team.
