Manchester United's run without a victory reached seven matches across all competitions after a 4-1 Champions League loss to Como on October 21. Cesc Fabregas' team inflicted another defeat on United, whose opening 10 games of the 2026-27 campaign have produced only two wins.

United also became the first English side to allow a goal within the opening two minutes in consecutive major European fixtures. Como scored in the second minute, following Atletico Madrid's first-minute goal against United in their previous European match.

Nico Paz contributed two goals and an assist for Como. Diogo Dalot missed an early scoring opportunity for United, while Bruno Fernandes played as a false nine before being substituted during the second half. Matheus Cunha was taken off at halftime.

The match was the first managerial meeting between Fabregas and Michael Carrick. United's next Premier League fixture is against Bournemouth at Old Trafford, with Carrick's position under pressure following the team's poor run.
