Darius Acuff Jr. matches rookie record with nine threes in Kings defeat
Acuff also surpassed Oscar Robertson as Sacramento’s youngest player with consecutive 30-point performances, according to the NBA.

Darius Acuff Jr. scored 38 points and connected on nine three-pointers for Sacramento against Memphis, equaling the NBA’s rookie mark for a single game. His scoring led all players, but the Kings lost 136-105.
Memphis rookie Cam Boozer contributed 27 points alongside nine rebounds as the Grizzlies improved their record to 6-0. Sacramento remained without a victory at 0-6.
The NBA said Acuff had also displaced Oscar Robertson as the youngest player in Sacramento franchise history with back-to-back games of at least 30 points. Acuff was selected No. 7 overall in June’s NBA Draft.
In his preceding appearance, Acuff joined Robertson and Kenny Smith as the franchise’s only rookies to produce a game exceeding 30 points, 10 assists and five rebounds.
Four other rookies have made nine threes in an NBA game: Dalton Knecht with the Los Angeles Lakers, Keyonte George with the Utah Jazz, and Yogi Ferrell and Rodrigue Beaubois with the Dallas Mavericks.
