Philadelphia plans to give Joe Milton the start against the Giants in Week 9, ESPN reported. The move would reverse the position Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni outlined on Monday, when he ruled out changing quarterbacks for the matchup.

With Jalen Hurts on injured reserve, Tanner McKee has made three starts, each ending in a Philadelphia defeat. Milton joined the Eagles from the Cowboys’ practice squad when Hurts went on injured reserve and has yet to play for his new team.

Milton’s experience over the last two seasons consists of five appearances split between the Patriots and Cowboys. His passing totals were 37-of-53 and 424 yards, with two interceptions and two touchdowns. On the ground, he recorded 66 yards and a touchdown on 15 attempts.

The opposing quarterback in the NFC East contest will be J.J. McCarthy. Philadelphia defensive coordinator Vic Fangio praised the Giants’ trade to acquire him.
