Evan Bouchard becomes third NHL defenseman to reach 26 points in 15 games
The Edmonton defenseman scored once and added two assists in a 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers, keeping the Oilers unbeaten on the road.

Evan Bouchard contributed a goal and two assists to Edmonton’s 4-1 road victory against the New York Rangers, becoming the third NHL defenseman with at least 26 points across his team’s opening 15 games.
His total of 26 puts him behind Al MacInnis, who recorded 27 over that span in 1990-91, and Bobby Orr, who had 30 in 1974-75. Edmonton improved to 11-2-2 overall, with a 7-0 record on the road.
Bouchard entered the season after setting career highs in 2025-26. He played all 82 regular-season games and finished with 95 points, comprising 21 goals and 74 assists. His previous best was 82 points in 2023-24, when he scored 18 goals and Edmonton reached the Stanley Cup Final.
Now in his eighth NHL season, Bouchard has played his entire career with the Oilers. His career totals stand at 84 goals, 275 assists and 359 points across 444 games.
