Youssouf Fofana does not want to join Manchester United in January, Spanish outlet VamosMiSevilla reported, despite interest from the English club. The 27-year-old France international is spending the season at Sevilla on loan from AC Milan.

According to VamosMiSevilla, even a lucrative United offer to Milan would not change the midfielder’s position on a winter transfer. Other media reports say he wants to fulfill his commitment to Sevilla rather than depart midway through the season. Any early termination of the loan would also need Sevilla’s agreement.

United manager Michael Carrick and club representatives are reportedly keen on Fofana after adding Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba to their midfield during the summer. Fofana has registered one goal in five appearances this campaign, with Sevilla occupying fifth place in La Liga.

United have recorded just two wins from eight fixtures across all competitions: a league victory over Ipswich Town and a Champions League win against Sabah.
