Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes has reportedly begun discussions about a contract extension after attracting summer interest from Aston Villa, Ipswich Town and Napoli. L'Equipe, cited by Get French Football News, reported the talks involving the 21-year-old.

Restes had been seeking a departure from Toulouse during the summer, according to the report. He ultimately remained at the Ligue 1 club and developed a good working relationship with head coach Jens Berthel Askou.

His existing contract runs until the end of the 2027-28 season. The goalkeeper has also recently made his full senior debut for France. Toulouse are 11th in Ligue 1, having collected 10 points from eight games.

Both English clubs added goalkeepers during the summer transfer window. Villa brought in Japan international Zion Suzuki from Parma, while Ipswich signed Kjell Scherpen from Union SG to compete with Christian Walton for a place in goal at Portman Road.
