Harbaugh says Giants did not plan to leave Skattebo without a touch
Cam Skattebo played six snaps in the 34-27 loss to the Saints after recording 91 touches across the opening five games of 2026.

Giants coach John Harbaugh said Cam Skattebo’s lack of involvement in a 34-27 defeat against the Saints was not intentional. The running back finished the team’s sixth game of the 2026 season without a touch despite appearing on six plays.
Harbaugh told reporters the backs were sharing first-half opportunities equally as the coaches looked for someone to produce. He said no runner had established himself and explained that the Giants did not call running plays while Skattebo was on the field.
Skattebo had accumulated 91 touches over the opening five games. His fourth fumble of the season came in overtime in Week 5, and Harbaugh had previously left open whether that turnover would affect his opportunities.
Quarterback J.J. McCarthy led the Giants in rushing with 26 yards from two attempts. Receiver Darnell Mooney added 20 yards on his only attempt, while Tyrone Tracy’s six carries yielded 18 yards, the most among the team’s running backs. The Giants visit the Texans in Week 7.
