Kai Havertz set a Premier League scoring record for German players on November 1, 2026, putting Arsenal ahead against Liverpool at Anfield. His 46th goal in the competition moved him clear of Ilkay Gundogan, with whom he had shared the record.

Selected by Mikel Arteta to start ahead of Viktor Gyokeres, the 27-year-old converted a low delivery from Declan Rice at the far post in the 16th minute. Arsenal held a 1-0 advantage at halftime.

The goal took Havertz’s league tally for Arsenal to 27, adding to the 19 he scored for Chelsea. It was his third league goal of the 2026-27 campaign and his first away from home, after scoring against Coventry City and Chelsea at home.

Liverpool pressed for an equalizer before the interval but had four penalty appeals rejected. The incidents included Jurrien Timber pulling Alexander Isak’s shirt and a possible handball by Timber, while Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo also appealed after going down under pressure.

Despite remaining scoreless, Liverpool recorded 28 touches inside Arsenal’s penalty area before halftime, the highest first-half total Arsenal have faced in a Premier League match.
