Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola blamed defensive errors at set pieces for his side's 3-2 Champions League loss away to Fenerbahce on November 4. The hosts overturned two Liverpool leads before Vedat Muriqi scored the winner.

Speaking after the match, Iraola said all three goals conceded came from set pieces: a free kick, a corner and a long throw. He said Liverpool had known that Fenerbahce were strong in those situations but had failed to defend them adequately.

Iraola singled out the defensive wall for the opening goal and Muriqi's ability to beat three defenders to the ball for the winner. He described the second goal as a rebound.

Trey Nyoni put Liverpool ahead in the 25th minute, and Alexander Isak restored their advantage in the 69th minute. Fenerbahce equalized in the 73rd minute before Muriqi struck six minutes later.

The result followed a 1-0 Premier League defeat against Arsenal, leaving Liverpool with consecutive losses for the first time under Iraola. Their next league match is away to Crystal Palace, followed by a home fixture against Manchester United on November 22. They face Club Brugge in the Champions League on November 25.
