Jerry Jones details tactical talks with Schottenheimer after Cowboys defeat
Stephen Jones has maintained his backing for Dallas' head coach after a loss to Green Bay left the Cowboys at 2-4.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he and head coach Brian Schottenheimer have discussed the team's structure, schemes and play calls following a 23-13 defeat to the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 18.
Addressing reporters during league meetings in New York, Jones said Schottenheimer outlined Dallas' approach and areas needing improvement, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota and Mike Jones. Jones characterized their discussions as tactical, rather than requests for additional effort or depth.
The defeat left Dallas with a 2-4 record. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones subsequently said both he and Jerry Jones retained their belief in Schottenheimer, who also handles offensive play-calling. Dallas had scored 16 points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Week 5 home loss.
Jerry Jones voiced disappointment over the record but said the team's talent, schemes and possible adjustments gave him reasons for confidence. He said improvement involved technical matters as well as mentality.
Dallas is scheduled to visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 26 for Monday Night Football.
