The Jets announced the signing of offensive tackle Blake Freeland from the Bengals’ practice squad, with offensive lineman Max Mitchell moving to injured reserve as the corresponding roster change. The team also released cornerback Tre Brown, who had been on injured reserve.

Freeland landed with Cincinnati after being waived by the Colts on Aug. 31. He had played 144 offensive snaps across Indianapolis’ three preseason games.

Indianapolis drafted the former BYU player in the fourth round in 2023. His rookie season included 15 appearances and nine starts. He played eight games in 2024, recording 23 offensive snaps and another 36 on special teams, before a fracture in his right leg kept him out for all of 2025.

Mitchell has missed two games following a concussion diagnosed at a Week 7 practice. During the season’s first six weeks, he recorded 22 snaps on special teams. The former Louisiana player has appeared in 51 games since the Jets chose him in the fourth round in 2022.

Brown’s stint on injured reserve began Aug. 30.
