Jets drop to 2-6 as Raiders rally for 38-33 victory
The Jets produced a season-high 439 yards on offense, but the Raiders ended a four-game losing streak with a comeback win.

The Raiders beat the Jets 38-33 after erasing a nine-point deficit, sending New York to a 2-6 record. With less than nine minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Jets were ahead, but the Raiders scored 17 points to New York’s three from there.
The result ended the Raiders’ four-game losing streak despite an offensive performance that gave the Jets their highest yardage total of the season: 439 yards. New York failed to turn enough of its drives into touchdowns.
Afterward, Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick pointed to penalties and mistakes. Multiple reporters quoted his assessment as “Jets being Jets.” The team subsequently contacted media members who had shared those remarks, saying Fitzpatrick had instead said “Jets beating Jets.”
New York’s defense has allowed an average of 26.3 points across its past six games, following two strong performances to open the season. Its recent setbacks also include a Week 7 defeat in which the previously winless Dolphins found success running the ball.
