Jets defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat will miss at least three games beyond Week 8 after being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. The move followed the team’s earlier decision to rule him out for Week 8.

Sweat hurt his knee during the defeat against the Dolphins. He made six starts across the Jets’ opening seven games and recorded 17 tackles, including two for loss.

To fill the vacancy, the Jets signed Payton Page, another defensive tackle, from their practice squad. Page made four appearances for the team last season.

Two other practice-squad players received elevations, the Jets announced: Brian Banks, an offensive lineman, and Quinton Bell, a linebacker. David Bailey is doubtful because of a groin injury, with Bell’s elevation indicating Bailey will be inactive.
