LeBron James became the first player in NBA history to make 16,000 career field goals, reaching the mark during the second quarter of Philadelphia's 112-106 win in Detroit. The 41-year-old is playing his 24th NBA season.

James finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists against the Pistons, recording his second double-double this season. He shot 5-of-10 overall, including 1-of-2 on three-point attempts, as the 76ers won without needing him to lead their scoring.

The NBA's career scoring leader and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are the only players to have surpassed 15,000 made field goals. Abdul-Jabbar's career total stands at 15,837. James has made 42 field goals across his seven appearances in 2026-27.

Philadelphia is James' fourth NBA franchise. His season averages stand at 15.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists, with shooting percentages of 45.7% overall and 26.1% from three-point range. He has scored 20 points only once this season.
