Green Bay took a 7-0 advantage over Dallas when Jordan Love threw a 9-yard scoring pass to Matthew Golden. The Packers used 14 plays to cover 90 yards on their opening possession, consuming 6:30.

Love completed 6-of-8 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown during the drive. His passing yardage exceeded the distance of the possession because two penalties pushed Green Bay backward. The Packers finished the series 4-of-4 on third down.

Golden also contributed a 37-yard reception that gained a first down, although he drew a taunting penalty. Christian Watson added a catch for 27 yards as Green Bay advanced primarily through the air rather than on the ground.

Dallas managed one first down before punting on its first possession. Returner KaVontae Turpin injured his ribs on the opening kickoff and was questionable to return. Tyler Goodson replaced him on kickoff returns.
