Kobbie Mainoo trained with Manchester United teammates on October 28, 2026, raising the possibility of a return against Chelsea after missing four matches through an unspecified injury. His participation offers head coach Michael Carrick another potential option for the Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.

The England midfielder had been expected to miss the Chelsea trip, but his return to training suggests he could feature. United will be without Manuel Ugarte and Benjamin Sesko, as well as Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu. Marcus Rashford remains a major doubt with a hip injury and did not take part in the October 28 session.

Captain Bruno Fernandes is expected to return to the starting lineup. He was left on the bench throughout the Bournemouth match after criticizing Carrick's tactics following the Champions League defeat by Como. Carrick and Fernandes have reportedly held talks, with the dispute said to have been resolved.

Lisandro Martinez has already made his return from a thigh injury, appearing as a substitute against Bournemouth. Carrick remains in charge despite pressure over United's campaign and is set to lead the team against Xabi Alonso's Chelsea.
