Houston led Jacksonville 17-14 at halftime after tight end Foster Moreau caught two touchdown passes. Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten also scored twice on receptions, with a field goal putting the Texans ahead.

Tuten turned two short throws from Trevor Lawrence into second-quarter touchdowns. He worked through Houston’s defense for a 27-yard score before catching a two-yard touchdown pass while uncovered on second-and-goal. An earlier rushing touchdown by Tuten was erased by a holding penalty. That possession ended without points when Lawrence threw an interception.

Houston’s receivers supplied several long gains. Jaylin Noel’s two receptions went for 50 yards and 34 yards, while Nico Collins gained 42 yards against Travis Hunter. Collins later drew an end-zone pass interference penalty against Hunter, setting up first-and-goal at the 1-yard line. Marvin Harrison Jr. added a 14-yard reception in the second quarter, his first catch for Houston. Moreau finished the scoring plays with touchdown receptions of six yards and one yard.

The Texans also had injury concerns on defense. Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was undergoing a concussion evaluation, while safety Reed Blankenship left for the locker room on a cart late in the second quarter.
