Baltimore is working to acquire quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Cardinals, ESPN reported, with the teams finalizing a trade expected to be completed over the weekend. The deal will not be finished before the Ravens face the Jaguars on Thursday night.

Joe Fagnano will start that game for Baltimore, whose quarterback options have been depleted by injuries. Lamar Jackson could miss the remainder of the season because of a thumb injury, while turf toe has ended Tyler Huntley’s season. Those injuries left the Ravens with the undrafted Fagnano and other inexperienced alternatives.

Brissett was Arizona’s starter for its first eight games this season before Gardner Minshew replaced him. He has since fallen to third on the Cardinals’ quarterback depth chart.

After an extended offseason absence, Brissett signed a revised contract with Arizona. Most of the money under that agreement has already been paid, leaving Baltimore responsible for the unpaid portion of his base salary if the trade is completed.
