Russell Wilson interviews for NC State coaching job, report says
The former NFL quarterback has no coaching experience and spent four years at NC State before transferring to Wisconsin.
Russell Wilson has interviewed for the vacant head-coaching position at NC State, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The former NFL quarterback is considering a college coaching role while in his first year on CBS’s The NFL Today.
Wilson, a 10-time Pro Bowler, has not coached before. He attended NC State from 2007 through 2010, then transferred to Wisconsin after the Wolfpack chose Mike Glennon for 2011.
Another former quarterback with ties to both NC State and the NFL, Philip Rivers, is the reported favorite for the position. Rivers has coaching experience, but only at the high-school level.
