The New Orleans Saints announced the release of kicker Daniel Carlson and the addition of running back Audric Estime through a waiver claim. Estime returns to New Orleans after Cleveland waived him.

Carlson was in his first season with the Saints. His four missed field goals included a 52-yard kick in the fourth quarter against Pittsburgh in Paris, where New Orleans lost its Week 7 game.

New Orleans also has Irish kicker Charlie Smyth on its practice squad. Smyth previously played six games for the Saints.

Estime’s earlier stint with New Orleans ended in September when the Saints waived him with an injury settlement. He subsequently joined Minnesota’s practice squad before Cleveland added him to its 53-man roster. In his only appearance for the Browns, he recorded nine carries for 19 yards and a touchdown in their Oct. 18 victory over Baltimore.
