New Orleans held off a late comeback by New York to win 34-27 on October 18, ending a three-game losing streak. Giants quarterback J.J. McCarthy brought his team within reach after entering with fewer than 12 minutes remaining and the Saints leading 34-10.

An interception ended McCarthy’s opening possession, but New York scored 17 points across its next three drives. After another Saints punt, his 28-yard scramble and passes to Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers moved the Giants to the New Orleans 14-yard line. His fourth-down attempt to Likely fell incomplete in the end zone.

New York had led 10-0 before New Orleans drew level by halftime. A Saints field goal, a Giants kickoff fumble and Tyler Shough’s touchdown throw with one second remaining before the break made it 10-10. Shough added two touchdown passes during the third quarter. He also contributed to New Orleans’ 175 rushing yards alongside Kendre Miller, Alvin Kamara and C.J. Donaldson.

Jameis Winston threw two interceptions before McCarthy took over. McCarthy finished 11-of-21 for 243 yards, including a touchdown pass to Likely, and his 28-yard run made him New York’s leading rusher. Likely and Nabers totaled 18 receptions for 264 yards. The Giants, now 3-2-1, next visit Houston, while the Saints are due to travel to Paris to prepare to face the Steelers.
