Seattle activated running back Zach Charbonnet on October 22, 2026, bringing him back to its active roster nine months after a torn ACL. The move makes him eligible for Sunday night’s road game against the Kansas City Chiefs, though coach Mike Macdonald has not committed to using him.

Charbonnet began practicing on October 1. Seattle had reached the 21-day deadline to either activate him from the physically unable to perform list or rule him out for the season. Macdonald said Charbonnet would get a full week of practice repetitions and could have a role against Kansas City.

Last season, Charbonnet recorded 730 yards and 12 touchdowns on 184 carries, with Seattle frequently using him near the goal line and in short-yardage situations. Kenneth Walker led the Seahawks in rushing that season. Now with the Chiefs, Walker leads the league in rushing.

To free a spot for Charbonnet on its 53-player roster, Seattle moved tight end Elijah Arroyo to injured reserve. Arroyo has a shoulder injury and is expected to undergo surgery that would keep him out for the remainder of the season.
