Juventus defeat adds to Spalletti pressure as Conte linked with job
La Stampa identifies three possible replacements, although Juventus’ hierarchy still rules out a managerial change.

Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti could face dismissal soon, according to La Stampa, after a 2-0 loss to Genoa left the club eighth in Serie A. Inter Milan and Lazio share the lead, with Juventus nine points behind them.
Despite reporting that the club’s leadership continues to reject a coaching change, La Stampa put Antonio Conte at the head of its list of potential successors. The newspaper cited his availability and ties to Juventus, where he played from 1991-2004 and coached from 2011-2014.
Stefano Pioli and Didier Deschamps were also named as possibilities. Each played for Juventus, but only Deschamps has coached the club. He helped the team return to the top flight during the 2006-07 season.
La Stampa said Deschamps has been available since the end of the 2026 World Cup. The former France coach’s interest in returning to work has been conveyed through intermediaries, and preliminary contacts have occurred, the newspaper reported.
Before the next international break, Juventus will play Napoli at home on 1 November, visit AZ Alkmaar for a Europa League fixture on 5 November and meet Fiorentina on 8 November.
