Colts head coach Shane Steichen said an evaluation is underway across the team following a 42-7 defeat to the Jaguars in which quarterback Daniel Jones was benched. His assessment extended beyond the quarterback position, according to comments reported by James Boyd of TheAthletic.com.

Anthony Richardson replaced Jones in the fourth quarter after Jones threw his second interception. It was Richardson’s first appearance of the season. Selected in the first round in 2023, Richardson remains on his rookie contract.

Steichen was asked after the loss whether Jones could face further time on the bench. Jones had helped the Colts start the 2025 season strongly before a torn Achilles brought his season to an end.

The Colts next play the Cowboys at home, with games against the Dolphins, Titans and Giants to follow before their Week 13 bye. The Giants matchup offers a potential reunion for Jones, although his role for that game remains uncertain.
