Cornerback Pat Surtain II and linebacker Jonathon Cooper were back on the practice field for the Broncos, while running back Jonah Coleman moved a step closer to a possible return from injured reserve.

Surtain had not practiced since an ankle injury in Week 4. He participated during the session’s media-access period, but the extent of his workload was not yet available. The team’s injury report will detail his participation level.

For Cooper, the session marked his first practice following his removal from the Commissioner Exempt list. He was absent for the season’s first six games. Denver has a roster exemption covering him through its Week 7 matchup with the Cardinals.

Coleman’s designation allows the Broncos to activate him within 21 days. The running back has been sidelined for four games because of an ankle injury.
