The 49ers, Chiefs and Vikings enter Week 7 without a loss, giving the NFL a chance to finish seven weeks with at least three unbeaten teams for only the third time since the merger, excluding the 1982 strike year, according to NBC Sports research.

San Francisco visits Atlanta at 6-0, while Kansas City and Minnesota each stand at 5-0. The Chiefs travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks; the Vikings host the Colts in Minneapolis.

The previous instances came in 2009 and 2015. The Saints, Colts and Broncos remained unbeaten after seven weeks in 2009. In 2015, that group numbered five: Carolina, Green Bay, Denver, New England and Cincinnati. Each season produced a Super Bowl matchup between two teams that had reached that point without losing: Indianapolis against New Orleans in 2009, and Carolina against Denver in 2015.

San Francisco most recently reached 7-0 in 2019 before eventually losing the Super Bowl to Kansas City. The Chiefs last reached 6-0 in 2024, a season that ended with a loss to the Eagles in their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance. Minnesota's last 6-0 start came in 2009, when its season ended against New Orleans in the NFC Championship.
