Kenneth Walker ran for two touchdowns as the Chiefs built a 19-3 advantage over the visiting Chargers by halftime on October 18. He gained 75 yards on 10 carries, scoring his second touchdown from two yards out with 1:49 remaining in the half.

Patrick Mahomes completed 15 of 19 passes for 179 yards and connected with eight receivers. Xavier Worthy accounted for five receptions and 70 yards; Andrew Armstrong, Cyrus Allen and Emmett Johnson also caught passes.

The Chiefs missed another scoring opportunity after Justin Herbert threw his eighth interception of the season. Their ensuing possession reached the Chargers’ 2-yard line, but Mahomes threw an interception under pressure on third down instead of throwing the ball away.

After Walker’s second touchdown, the Chiefs forced the Chargers to punt quickly. Mahomes then completed two passes to set up Harrison Butker, who made a 50-yard field goal before halftime to extend the lead.
