Drake Maye scored on a two-yard run as the Patriots erased a 10-point halftime deficit against the Dolphins in Miami. The extra point gave New England a 17-13 advantage with 59 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

The quarterback kept possession after faking a pitch to running back Rhamondre Stevenson. Dolphins linebacker Willie Gay was drawn by the fake, allowing Maye to reach the end zone.

A replay review had kept the scoring drive alive. Officials initially determined that wide receiver Pop Douglas was short of a first down after catching a fourth-down pass. The review established that he had reached the line needed, allowing New England to retain possession.

The Patriots had also benefited from a reversal on their preceding possession. Referee Alex Moore’s crew initially called a Maye touchdown pass incomplete, but Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel challenged the ruling successfully.
