Bournemouth are considering AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit and Lazio’s Kenneth Taylor as possible replacements should Alex Scott leave in January, according to TEAMtalk.

The club would prefer to keep Scott through at least the end of the season. Chelsea have shown interest in the 23-year-old, while Liverpool have also been linked with him. His Bournemouth deal runs until the summer of 2028.

TEAMtalk reported that both Dutch players have impressed Bournemouth’s recruitment staff, led by president of football operations Tiago Pinto. Bournemouth have been monitoring Smit’s development.

Smit came through AZ’s academy and has recorded seven goals and 14 assists across 84 competitive first-team appearances. He is currently out with a groin injury and has also attracted attention from Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Taylor, 24, moved from Ajax to Lazio in January. He has five goals and four assists from 31 competitive appearances for the Italian club, which is second in Serie A. His contract lasts until the summer of 2030.

Scott has played 95 times for Bournemouth since arriving from Bristol City. After making his senior England debut against the Czech Republic, he made his first start in the 7-0 victory over Croatia. A hamstring injury has kept him out since that international window.
