Rams head coach Sean McVay has confirmed that linebacker Myles Garrett will be activated from injured reserve for the game against the Commanders. McVay announced the decision at a Friday news conference, following an earlier report that Garrett would return.

Garrett underwent knee surgery following Week 1 and has resumed practicing. The Rams hope he can avoid another interruption and regain the form that brought him defensive player of the year honors while playing for Cleveland in 2025.

The matchup will also be the first occasion on which the Rams have both Garrett and Aaron Donald active. Garrett’s return gives the Commanders another player to account for in their preparations.

McVay also said tight end Terrance Ferguson is set to leave injured reserve. Ferguson has been sidelined for five games because of an ankle injury.
