Elliot Anderson opened his Manchester City scoring account on October 20, 2026, giving his side the lead against AEK Athens in the Champions League. The England international converted from close range in the 12th minute after a free kick by Enzo Fernandez struck the crossbar.

City entered the match seeking their second victory in the competition this season. Enzo Maresca's team began with a 2-0 win over Porto, then suffered a 4-2 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old midfielder joined City from Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window for around £116 million. Speaking when he arrived, Anderson said he had been determined to join once he learned of City's interest and viewed the move as an opportunity to compete at the highest level.

After the AEK fixture, City's next Premier League assignment is an away match against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
