The Eagles announced they have moved running back Elijah Mitchell from the practice squad to their 53-man roster while waiving Jaydon Blue and Carson Steele. Steele’s departure carried an injury designation because of a shoulder injury sustained in Week 6.

The moves leave Mitchell alongside Saquon Barkley and Dameon Pierce among the team’s running backs. A hamstring injury has kept Barkley out for two games.

Mitchell joined the Eagles during the offseason, was cut in August and then returned as a practice squad player. His NFL experience includes one game for the Chiefs. Across three seasons with the 49ers, he totaled 1,523 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 327 carries.

Blue had been added to the active roster before the loss to the Panthers but did not appear in that game. Steele caught one pass for four yards against Carolina and made two appearances overall.
