Denver’s run of 16 victories in games settled by no more than one score has matched the longest such streak since 1950, according to NBC Sports research. The Broncos share that mark with the 2023-24 Chiefs, whose starting quarterback was Patrick Mahomes.

Bo Nix started at quarterback for Denver throughout the streak. The Broncos have not lost a game that close since the Chargers beat them 23-20 in Week 3 of the 2025 season.

The wins have continued despite a 2026 yardage differential of minus-658, which ranks third worst in the NFL. Denver has won three games this season in which its opponents gained at least 100 more yards.

Eight teams share the single-season record of four victories under those circumstances. Denver would take sole possession of that record with two more such wins in 2026.

The Broncos next face the Panthers on the road, giving Denver another chance to extend its close-game streak in a Super Bowl 50 rematch.
