New Orleans has waived running back Kendre Miller ahead of its matchup with Cleveland, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football. The move comes as the 2-5 Saints prepare to host the 5-3 Browns in their first game since Week 7.

Selected from TCU in the third round of the 2023 draft, Miller was the 71st overall pick. His career rushing totals stand at 656 yards on 184 carries, an average of 3.56 yards per carry. He also has 217 receiving yards from 29 catches.

Miller will become a free agent if he passes through waivers unclaimed. New Orleans' remaining options on the depth chart are Alvin Kamara, C.J. Donaldson and Audric Estimé. The Saints recently added Estimé through waivers from Cleveland.

Travis Etienne, a free-agent addition, is still on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury. New Orleans is seeking to avoid opening 0-4 at home for the first time since 1980, excluding the game designated as a home fixture in Paris.
