Angel Reese attended the 131-22 victory as LSU honored her 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year award.

A 131-22 win over Texas Southern gave LSU the biggest victory margin ever recorded between Division I basketball programs, according to ESPN. The 109-point result came at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center with former LSU player Angel Reese in attendance.
Freshman forward Anna Minaeva came off the bench to score a team-high 21 points, making 9-of-12 shots. Seven LSU players finished in double figures, including senior guard Mikaylah Williams with 20 points and transfer Jada Williams with 18.
The second quarter ended 40-0 in LSU's favor, and its scoring advantage across the two middle quarters was 70-3. A Texas Southern three-pointer from Jayla Cornelius brought the score to 75-16 before LSU scored 43 unanswered points.
LSU had previously set its program record by beating Southeast Louisiana 129-35, a margin of 94 points. Reese, now an Atlanta Dream forward, returned for recognition of her 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year award. She helped LSU win its first women's basketball national championship in 2023.
