Emiliano Martinez is absent from Chelsea's squad for the November 8 Premier League match at Sunderland, while Moises Caicedo has been cleared to start. Mike Penders continues in goal for the visitors at the Stadium of Light.

Martinez, 34, had been seeking a return before the international break after fracturing his jaw against Everton on October 17. The Argentina goalkeeper is not among Chelsea's substitutes.

Xabi Alonso makes two changes following Chelsea's 2-0 win over Manchester United. Pep Chavarria comes in at left-back, with Marco Palestra moving to the right and Josh Acheampong absent from the squad. Jordan Henderson returns from illness, while Estevao Willian moves to the bench. Cole Palmer joins Morgan Rogers and Pedro Neto in attack.

Sunderland manager Regis le Bris changes three players after the 3-1 loss at Coventry City. Chemsdine Talbi, Thomas Meunier and Nordi Mukiele enter the starting lineup. Omar Alderete is suspended, while Angulo and Chris Rigg are named as substitutes.
