Colorado head coach Deion Sanders said improving the team’s performances must begin with him after a 20-10 loss to Arizona State left Colorado at 3-6 for the season.

The defeat brought Sanders’ record to 19-27 across his four years leading Colorado. Speaking afterward, he acknowledged the poor results and said he was unhappy with how the season was unfolding.

Sanders said his concern was for the players and fans rather than his own disappointment. He felt he had not done enough to give the team opportunities to win and said its performances were falling short of what supporters deserved.

After reviewing the game’s statistics, Sanders said Colorado had not played well enough. He put responsibility for better coaching on himself as the team sought to improve its results.
